For four years Luke and Lorelai was Gilmore Girls' 'Will they? Won't they?' pairing, before things finally started to happen. Lorelai is a single mother of a teenage girl, which she had when she was only sixteen herself. Luke's the owner of the diner in town and is Lorelai's favourite coffee supplier. They are best friends. Luke is Lorelai's rock, her shoulder to cry on, the one person she doesn't have to stay strong for. Even before the two of them start dating, Luke has been in many ways her daughter's substitute father. Lorelai is Luke's link to the world, the one person who can bring him out of his shell. The high point for their relationship is season five and beginning of season six. They are the show's power couple. I don't remember when it was I fell for them, I don't know if it was sudden or something that for me evolved over time, but as it is now I can't imagine either one of them with anyone else who they will truly be happy with.
